Ferguson Activist Found Son Lynched In Backyard

Longtime Ferguson activist Melissa McKinnes found her son hanging from a tree in her backyard. McKinnes’ son Danye Jones was 24 years old and was described as a happy young man looking forward to launching a few business ventures in 2019. The police department is not investigating this as a murder but ruling it a suicide. McKinnes says the sheets that were used to hang him were not from their home and that the knots used to tie the sheets were advanced. They did not think Jones was capable of making those knots.

McKinnes stated that she thinks her family is being targeted. In the last two months, they’ve received death threats through social media while some have been left on their doorstep.

Records show that suicide among black people is lower than any race in America and a suicide by hanging is a very rare occurrence. This act does not fit the profile of black people. We know that lynching has been a demonic method used by the Whiteman to kill us for centuries. There has not been any change in the spirit of the so-called Whiteman and here never will be.

“As for us, our eyes as yet failed for our vain help: in our watching, we have watched for a nation that could not save us.  (18)  They hunt our steps, that we cannot go in our streets: our end is near, our days are fulfilled; for our end is come.” Lamentations 4:17-18
